Tonight I had a ticket for my friend’s restaurant’s NYE shindig, but I ended up working. I know, I’m an absolute trooper. My night of levity turned into a night of durability and versatility. Turning my hand to cocktail mixology wasn’t what I anticipated this evening, but it was good to put some work in. Fortunately I was allowed to enjoy the fantastic buffet on offer, so this is what we’ll be reviewing tonight.
The buffet was a selection of Mexican treats such as; pork empanadas, pork burritos, mushroom quesadillas and BBQed corn. A great selection of dishes, cooked well and generously portioned. With the options of Pan Gastro sauces, to add a kick of chilli and citrus to otherwise rich foods, it was a treat for the senses. Interestingly, or not, chilli is actually a sensation rather than a flavour. The heat is pain in the mouth that emulates a flavour. Great for mouth feel and a vibrant sensory experience.
With fantastic live music from a Dominican don daddyo, the whole experience was fab! If you want to book an event, then Los Banditos is the place. Great, fresh street food. An incomparable setting, with wall art by a local tattooist, Los Banditos offers everything. Located in Lancaster, it’s a unique restaurant that offers something for all. A huge open space with a huge bar with a great choice of cocktails, including one of the best mojitos you’ll find and a Oaxaca Old Fashioned, subbing Mezcal for Whisky.
4.7/5 for Los Banditos New Year’s spectacular.
Happy new year!!
Signing off,
Sammy Jay
